Two years ago we were in the throws of purchasing our lot so Salmon Days just kind of came and went. Not last year and not this year. What a great little parade. So much community spirit! The afternoon festivities at the local ball field included live music, food, and socializing. It was such fun to be a part of.

Tina, the Parade Marshall decked out in her scales and fish hat. |
Fishing industry alive and well in Sointula. |
Two enthusiastic mermaid were hanging out in the trailer, sunning themselves. |
RCMP come over for the day dressed in their finest. |
Heck, even the dogs get dressed up! |
And a best costume contest for the kids, of course. |
Grandma Megan, who runs around town on her green machine. Local library present too. |
Jeanine in green, accompanied by her very froo froo puppies all dolled out for the Pet Parade. |
A local crow, of which there are many, hassles the locals. |
After the parade everyone headed to the ball field for tasty treats, crafts, massages, music, the beer garden and
of course the dunk tank where local 'celebrities' took the plunge for a local non profit society. |

This is a labour of love made by Alden and Kathy. It's one of two whimsical driftwood miniature houses they create. |
We topped the Saturday night off with a pizza party around our new fire pit. All in all a wonderful weekend spent with Peter, Jim's brother, and his partner Kathleen.
A great weekend with friends and family! More blogs coming soon!
